God Never Planned Your Pain

God has a plan for you. It doesn't matter what condition you are in right now. Maybe you're sick. Maybe you're broke. Maybe you're confused. Whatever it is, the Lord has a plan for you.

And this is not only for Christians. God made all men, so His plan reaches every human who comes to the earth, including you.

It Started in Eden

When God made Adam, He put him in a garden called Eden, and everything the man would need for living was already there: food, water, provision for his whole life.

"And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed" (Genesis 2:8, KJV).

Yes, man sinned, lost all of that and had to leave Eden. That was the beginning of man's problems. "By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin" (Romans 5:12, KJV).

So understand this: God did not bring pain and sickness upon man. There was no sickness, no pain and no disease in Eden. The problems we face today are the result of Adam's sin and what we inherited just because we are human.

But God has made a way out, and that way is His Son. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6, KJV). Jesus is the connection to the Father, so the life of God comes to us through Him.

God's Plan for Your Health

Is it God's plan for you to be sick? No. Did God make anybody sick? No. Sickness is the result of the corruption of man's life.

That is why He sent Jesus to pay for our sins and to give us health. "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows… and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4–5, KJV). Peter says it in the past tense: "by whose stripes ye were healed" (1 Peter 2:24, KJV).

Just as Jesus has potentially paid for every human to be saved, He has also potentially healed every human. It takes someone who will enforce it by using the name of Jesus.

Why Christians Still Get Sick

"But don't people who are saved still fall sick?" Yes, they do. Here is why.

When you are born again, someone with a fallen life receives a new life. Now the old life and the new life fight for supremacy, and the battleground is the mind. The body is just a vessel. It has no mind of its own. When the old life wins in your mind, the body responds to the old life. When the new life wins, the body responds to the new life.

That is why Paul says, "be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2, KJV). A Christian who refuses to renew his mind will live exactly as he did before he was born again. Symptoms may come, but how you respond to them determines whether they continue. Instruct your body and insist on the Word of God.

God's Plan for Your Finances

Does God want anyone to live in poverty? No. God is totally against poverty.

Someone will say Jesus Himself said, "For ye have the poor always with you" (Matthew 26:11, KJV). Yes, because He knew not everybody would follow the pattern God laid down for living out of poverty.

Through salvation came a new life that is superior to the old Adamic life. Walking in it, you receive wisdom and instruction to produce wealth according to the Father's will. "For it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth" (Deuteronomy 8:18, KJV).

Producing wealth still works by sowing and reaping, for Christians and non-Christians alike. But as a Christian you have direct instructions and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. You are not doing guesswork. You are being led by the Spirit of God.

One principle God expects you to walk by is giving. When you give, you take yourself out of the level of the poor. You are declaring, "I am not just a receiver. I am a giver." And the first place of giving is God Himself, because that declares He is your source.

I know tithing is controversial because it was given under the law, and "ye are not under the law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14, KJV). I understand that. But take the 10% as a guide, a minimum, for the discipline of it. When you give to God, you bring Him into your finances. You make Him a shareholder on your board of directors, with authority to direct how things flow to you.

Sometimes, after you give, the devil brings more trouble to make it look like you wasted your money. Don't stay back. It doesn't mean you will suddenly have billions in your account, but you will have sufficiency, and you will not be called poor.

God's Plan for Your Relationships

Does God want people living with heartbreak? No. He has a system for relationships too.

God did not plan for young people to date and have fun with no marriage in sight. That is the devil's plan, and it is why so many people are heartbroken.

Choosing a life partner is simple. You walk closely with God, and you find your partner in God. The three of you are connected inside Him: a simple triangle.

Marriage is spirit, soul and body, so check all three. Yes, there should be chemistry. But check the mind too: what beliefs and mindset does this person have? Most important of all, check the spirit. Is this person one with God just as you are? The body can change a lot. The mind can change, though not as easily. But the spirit you cannot force. Whether a person accepts Jesus is up to their own will.

A Prayer for Your Healing

If you are sick, I don't care what the sickness is or how long it has been. Every sickness bows to the name of Jesus, "a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow" (Philippians 2:9–10, KJV). The devil takes advantage of ignorance and makes people bear a pain that is already paid for. It's like paying twice for a settled bill.

So receive this, not because I am praying, but because Jesus has done it:

In the name of the Lord Jesus, I command that pain and that sickness to leave your body. Healing comes to you right now, from your head to your toe. You are made whole in the name of Jesus.

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" (John 8:36, KJV). Now check your body. Don't let the devil lie to you that nothing has happened.

If You Have Never Given Your Life to Christ

It doesn't matter how far you have gone in sin. God wants to give you eternal life and a relationship with Him that goes beyond wealth and beyond what people call success. That emptiness you feel will go once Jesus comes into your heart. If you're ready, pray this with me:

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for me. I believe that You resurrected that I might have eternal life. I know that I am a sinner, and today I seek forgiveness for my sins. I accept You, Lord, as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

A Practical Takeaway

Take a few minutes with God this week:

  1. Name the area. Your health, your finances or your relationships. Write it down.
  2. Remember where it came from. God did not plan this pain.
  3. Renew your mind daily. Find what the Word says about it and speak it over your situation.
  4. Give on purpose. Start with God, and let your giving declare that He is your source.
  5. Put the spirit first. If you're choosing a partner, check spirit, then mind, then body.

God has a plan for you, Christian or not yet. Step into it.

Many people have a syndrome that I call passive-lazy syndrome, and they are not aware of it. Let me tell you what it is about. At different times in life we have goals we want to achieve. Then we hit a roadblock, and sometimes the roadblock is only imaginary. Instead of facing the real problem, many people turn to peripheral things. These are things that make them look like they are doing something when they are actually doing nothing. They make excuses and complain about every other thing...

There is a simple principle I want to share with you, and it can change your life. It works in every area. If you want to learn a new skill, if you want a better walk with God, if you want a better relationship, this applies. I call it the law of 24 hours. It is a pattern I noticed in Scripture. God has placed a system in nature that has to do with 24 hours. He set things up so that anything that is going to be effective and productive has to be repeated over the span of a day. Let me show...

Your worldview controls the decisions you make. It shapes how you think, what you believe about money, how you manage your health, and the opinions you hold about almost every subject in life. Everyone has one. Every person living on this planet carries a worldview, whether they use that word or not. Some people treat it like a distant philosophy, something that belongs only in books or debates. But the truth is simpler than that. When you walk into a mall or a marketplace and choose one...
